Context and Goal
The Academic Writing Club was implemented as an online writing space for outgoing bachelor students of a University of Applied Sciences. The format targeted students who spent a semester abroad and could not attend live classes at the university but still needed to improve their academic writing skills.
The Method
The 2CG®/4C Method (cultural codes, grammar and mechanics, style and tone, context and meaning) was used to train students in academic writing. In a sprint-like format, they regularly engaged in their writing practice and received personalised online feedback from their coach. Once a week, Writing Club Members met online to receive general tips and resources, and to share and explore their approach to academic writing together.
