Christina Merl's doctoral thesis was published as a book in 2009, with the title "Intercultural Communication in the Advertising Industry: How communities of practice enable organisational learning and knowledge sharing processes across cultures". Her master thesis about the terminology of the metabolism of the anthroposphere was translated into many languages. Her numerous academic papers, newspaper articles, and interviews have been published in international and national peer reviewed journals, magazines, dailies, and books. Her paper "Communication Skills Training for the 21st Century Engineer: A Contemporary Approach to Teaching" won the Best Paper Award in 2018.
